Co-Ownership Program
Currently, there are only a handful of Carlin Pinscher breeders in the US and Canada, and the Carlin gene pool is very small. All of my dogs live in my home, so I can only have a maximum of four females. This limits my breeding options, and slows forward progress of the breed. One way to remedy these issues is to allow breeding-quality puppies go to pet homes on co-ownership.
Co-ownership means approved homes would receive a puppy at no cost to them, in exchange for allowing me to breed to that puppy at a future date. This allows me room to create new bloodlines, while retaining access to current lines.
Puppies placed under the co-ownership program will be the legal property of both myself and the new family, but the puppy will live its entire life with its family. Additionally, once the terms of the contract have been fulfilled, and the puppy has added to the gene pool, it will be signed over to the new owner completely.
Again, each co-owned puppy will remain with his/her new family for life.
These puppies will be extremely limited in number as not every litter has breeding-quality puppies. They'll be sold on a legally binding contract with clear expectations for both parties.
A new owner's income level isn't important to me, but a great home is. Some of the criteria I'll be looking at are:

- Local. Within two hours (give or take) of Athol, ID. I will bring your new puppy to you.
- Stable. Homeowner or long-term lease only.
- Willing to provide vet's contact information and a letter (or contact info) from your landlord if renting.
- Willing to take the puppy to obedience or socialization classes.
- Understands the challenge of keeping an intact dog (male or female) as an inside pet.
- Will not breed the puppy before specific health testing has been completed, and will agree to spay/neuter the puppy if she or he does not pass the tests. (All testing expenses paid by me.)
- Willing to spay/neuter at the conclusion of the co-ownership contract (purchasing breeding rights can be discussed.)
- Understands I will want to breed one or more of my female dogs back to a male dog at some point, or will require the first and third pick of the litter from a female. After these conditions are met, the dog will be altered and signed over to the new owner, completely.
- Willing to sign a legally binding co-ownership contract.
- Yes, kids and other dogs are okay. :) No previous breeding experience necessary; I will be with you every step of the way.
